Urban Design Framework, Regulation and public space implementation and architecture for the Valencia Citrus Estate, Brits, North-West Province, 2008 (@US)
An existing 45ha citrus orchards, 10 km south of Brits has been earmarked as development area, planned primarily as a residential community that offers a unique lifestyle and new residential precedent that is superior to that of current planning proposals. The development also offers a development model whereby the existing agricultural use are integrated with those of a new village with over 100 homes and associated amenities.
Apart from the residential component a variety of tourist related facilities are proposed. These not only include the expansion of the current restaurant amenities, but foresee the development of a hotel, spa and small scale retail associated with the agriculture and tourism industry.
